Belcher, PhD, Professor of Biology and DuBerg Chair of Ecology at Sweet Briar College. Dr. Belcher was the coauthor with me (Julia Mills Jacobsen) for the first four editions of this book. She was noted for her precise use of words, subtle sense of humor, and a “never give up” attitude.
