DoDEA Reading Grade 4 2013 State Snapshot Report Public Schools Overall Results Achievement-Level Percentages and Average Score Results (cid:132) In 2013, the average score of fourth-grade students in DoDEA was 232. This was higher than the average score of 221 for public school students in the nation. (cid:132) The average score for students in DoDEA in 2013 (232) was higher than their average score in 2011 (229) and in 1998 (220). (cid:132) The score gap between higher performing students in DoDEA (those at the 75th percentile) and lower performing students (those at the 25th percentile) was 36 points in 2013. This performance gap was narrower than that in 1998 (47 points). (cid:132) The percentage of students in DoDEA who performed at or above the NAEP Proficient level was 43 percent in 2013. This percentage was greater than that in 2011 (39 percent) and in 1998 (32 percent).
