The ITV broadcasts are carried by Idaho Public Television stations KAID-TV (Channel 4) in Boise, KISU-TV (Channel 10) in Pocatello, and KUID-TV (Channel 12) in Moscow. In addition, the Idaho Public Television signal can be received on almost every cable television system in the state, as well as on a great many translator stations. Guide Arrangement. The ITV Guide begins with a Table of Contents, which lists the programs by subject area. The Table of Contents will be helpful in locating desired sections of the Guide, e.g., Discontinued Programs. The body of the ITV Guide is arranged by subject area, with an alphabetical index at the end of the guide to assist in locating particular programs. Each program page provides a brief description of the series, and the titles of each episode in the series. The exact broadcast times are published in a calendar format and mailed every two months during the school year (see below). Other important sections of the guide are described as follows: Blockfeed Broadcast Schedule (not part of the guide). To make the use of ITV programming easier and more effective, programs are being distributed only via overnight "blockfeeds," in which a number of episodes of a series are broadcast back- to-back. These blockfeeds allow schools to tape an entire series at one time or over several sequential blockfeed days, depending upon the length of the series. This allows educators to consolidate many episodes of a series onto one tape. The VCR's counter number can index program episodes after they are recorded, making them much easier to find on the tape for later use. One advantage to recording the programs overnight is that it will free up school VCRs for use during the day. Teachers can keep tapes in the library during the school year for ready access, so the program may be used when desired. Ultimately, teachers may then include the instructional video in their lesson or unit plans according to their own schedule. To reiterate, blockfeeds will be scheduled each Wednesday (?), and Thursday and Friday from 1:00 to 5:30 a.m. (Mountain Time) (midnight to 4:30 a.m. Pacific Time). It is critical to note that the blockfeed times are from 1:00 to 5:30 a.m. (Mountain). Educators wishing to tape a feed will need to remember to set their VCRs on Tuesday afternoon to tape the programs which will be aired early Wednesday morning, and so on for each of the blockfeed days. vi IN Taping Rights. The most effective use of ITV requires having the program permissible for available on tape for use as needed in the classroom.
