ACDC is ProjectCoordinator requesting assistance for 52 of our units in order to provide affordable housing in Chinatown. Our Chinatown Parcel R3-B Project hopes to provide 100 units of rental housing with a goal of 60% affordability It is ACDC's goal to provide long term affordable housing to the Asian Commmunity and other residents of Boston. We are committed to ensuring that this Project remain affordable in perpetuity. ACDC is also committed to using minority business enterprises, implementing fair housing practices and enforcing the Boston Jobs Ordinance. The City of Boston and the Boston Redevelopment Authority has been working with ACDC since 1988 to ensure the success of our housing project. With both public support and broad neighborhood support, ACDC obtained CDAG and RDAL from the Executive Office of Communities and Development (EOCD) In addition, ACDC . has on file over 150 letters of support and over 2,000 names of petitioners from residents, community organizations inside and outside of Chinatown, elected officials and other supporters. Without an award from the Section 8 Project Based Assistance Program, ACDC would not be able to provide its target goal of affordable units in Chinatown or to build at such a large scale. 2 p. With extreme factors such as Chinatown being one of the poorest neighborhoods, having the highest rate of overcrowding in Boston, having a high percentage of deteriorated housing and having thousands of family and elderly on Chinatown's combined subsidized housing waiting lists, this large scale affordable housing project is significant and will alleviate some of these dire neighborhood problems. We hope that the Public Facilities Department will award us the full number of units that we have requested for assistance. Sincerely, d2 Carol Lee Executive Director
