This analysis will be accomplishedt hrough use of facilities of the Air Force Eastern Test Range augmentedb y trackingf rom the Rose Knot trackings hip. The MCC-H and other sites will be staffed by flight controllers and other personneld uring the flight in much the same manner as past manned flights. However, there are fewer trackings tations, the flight surgeon's console will not be manned, and no astronautsw ill be assigned duty at consoles in the MissionO perations Control Room (MOCR). Only a one shift operationw ill be required during this Apollo flight. Brig. Gen. C. H. Bolender (biography attached)w ill serve as the Apollo/Saturn 201 mission director. He will handle his duties from the Mission Control Center,H ouston, which has direct responsi- bility for mission success from the final countdownt hrough space- craft recovery. --more-- Add l News Release l In case of a communications failure or if time does not permit direct and detailecdo ntrol from the MCC-H in final phases of the flight, control reponsibilityw ill revert to the command communi- cater aboard the tracking ship Rose Knot.
