Warrant 2004 To the inhabitants ofthe Town ofMilan, in the County ofCoos and the State ofNew Hampshire qualified to vote in town affairs: You are hereby notified to meet at the Milan Village School Gym on Tuesday the 9th day ofMarch 2004 at 6:30pm to act on the following subjects: 1 To choose all Town Officials for the ensuing year. 2. To see ifthe Town will vote to raise and appropriate $196,691.00 for General Government. (Majority vote required) Executive Administration 31,000.00 Election/ Registry/VS 37,000.00 Financial Adrninistration 21,000.00 Property Assessment /Reval 20,000.00 Legal Services 6,000.00 Employer Expenses 14,000.00 Planning and Zoning Boards 10,600.00 Government Buildings 37,000.00 Cemeteries 10,300.00 insurance 7,291.00 Regional Associations 2,500.00 196,691.00 3. To see ifthe Town will vote to raise and appropriate $81,888.00 for Public Safety. Shall we modify the elderly exemptions from property tax in the Town ofMilan, based on assessed value, for qualified taxpayers, to be as follows: For a person 65 years ofage up to 75 years $20,000.00 For a person 75 years ofage up to 80 years $30,000.00 For a person 80 years ofage or older $40,000.00 To qualify, the person must have been a New Hampshire resident for at least 5 consecutive years, own the real estate individually orjointly, or ifthe real estate is owned -7- by such person's spouse, they must have been married for at least 5 years. In addition, the taxpayer must have a net income ofnot more than 18,400.00 or, ifmarried, a combined net income ofnot more than 26,400.00; and own net assets not in excess of 50,000.00, excluding the value ofthe person's residence. Selectmen recommend this article. (Majority vote required) 9. To see ifthe Town will vote to adopt the Open Space Cluster Development zoning amendment as proposed by the Planning Board. Copies ofthe full text ofthe amendment are available for inspection at the Milan Town Office. Voting will be by official written ballot. Selectmen recommend this article. (Majority vote required) 10. To conduct any otherbusiness which may legally come before this meeting. The polls will be open from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
