Potential hazard sources The 1850 TSS-320 equipment has been developed in line with the present state-of-the-art and fulfils the current national and international safety requirements. It is provided with a high degree of operational safety resulting from many years of development experience and continuous stringent quality checks in our company. The equipment is safe in normal operation. There are, however, some potential hazards that cannot be completely eliminated. In particular, these potential hazards can arise under the following circumstances: • When opening housings or equipment covers. • When you perform work of any kind within the system, even if it has been disconnected from the power supply. • When you disconnect optical or electrical connections. Sources of danger are due to possible contact with any of the following items: • live parts • laser light • hot surfaces • sharp edges. For Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-320 system, laser light is considered to be a hazard source because this product conforms to Laser Class 1. Class 1 Lasers are considered incapable of producing hazardous radiation levels during normal operation. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... 8DG08136HAAA 1 Issue1 December2007 SafetyGuide Overview ....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
