Printedonacid-freepaper SpringerispartofSpringerScience+BusinessMedia(www.springer.com) Preface The AsiaSim2011 (Asia Simulation Conference 2011) was held November 16–18,2011,in Seoul, Korea.The Asia Simulation Conference,held annually,is organized by ASIASIM (Federation of Asian Simulation Societies), KSS (Korea Society for Simulation), CASS (Chinese Association for System Simu- lation), and JSST (Japan Society for Simulation Technology) and provides a forum for scientists, academicians, and professionals from the Asia-Pacific re- gionandfromotherpartsoftheworld.Participantspresenttheirlatestexciting researchfindingsinvariousfieldsofmodeling,simulation,andtheirapplications. ThisvolumeistheproceedingsofAsiaSim2011.Attheconference,61papers, stringently selected, were presented and three keynote speeches introduced new simulationtechnologiesandresearchtrends.Full-lengthversionsofallsubmitted papers were refereed by the international program committee, with each paper receivingatleasttwoindependentreviews.Thisvolumepublishespapersselected from among those presented at the conference.
