A new species of cypraeid gastropod, Zonaria (Zonaria)frassinettii, sp. nov. is described from the lower upper Miocene (Tortonian), Navidad Formation, north of Matanzas, Cardenal Caro Province, central Chile. This new species represents the southernmost record for a cypraeid species in the Western Hemisphere. INTRODUCTION foraminifera.
